Delhi stands as the capital of modern India, a vibrant metropolis where
the old and new, the ancient and the modern, come together in perfect harmony.
Its strategic location has been a major factor in its selection as the seat of
power by successive dynasties throughout history. As a result, Delhi is a
unique amalgamation of seven cities, each with its own distinct character and
charm. The city has witnessed the rise and fall of many empires, leaving behind
a wealth of monuments that pay tribute to the grandeur and glory of bygone
eras. Few cities in the world can boast such a profusion of architectural
styles as Delhi.

DAY 2: SIGHTSEEING OF DELHI
Following breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a tour of Old and New
Delhi. Shah Jahan founded the city of
Shahjahanabad, now referred to as Old Delhi, in 1648. The famous Red Fort in
the heart of Old Delhi was once the most opulent fort of the Mughal Empire and
it boasts the Diwan-i-Am, Hall of Public Audience, and the Diwan-i-Khas, Hall
of Private Audience. Opposite the Fort is the Jama Masjid, one of the largest
mosques in the world, built by Shah Jahan to dominate his city. Embark on a captivating journey that begins
at the iconic Jama Masjid, where you will then take a leisurely cycle rickshaw
ride through the charming backstreets of Old Delhi. Immerse yourself in the vibrant energy and
rich history of this ancient city, while indulging in a delectable tasting of famous
street food of Delhi like Jalebi (Funnel cake) & Samosa. Next, marvel at the grandeur of the majestic
Red Fort as you drive by, before delving into the architectural splendor of
Lutyen’s Delhi. Explore the elegant India Gate, a poignant War Memorial Arch,
and pass by the stately Rashtrapati Bhawan – the President’s Residence, the
imposing Parliament House, and other significant Government buildings nestled
in the heart of New Delhi.
From here you will drive to Humayun’s Tomb - the second Mughal
emperor’s mausoleum or the blue print of the Taj Mahal. It is one of the best
Mughal buildings in India and an introduction to the Mughal architecture. Before we conclude the day, visit to
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib (Sikh Temple), where you will have an opportunity to see
the holy shrine of Sikhs. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is blessed by the eighth Guru
of Sikhs – Guru Harkrishan Sahibji. Originally a bungalow owned by Raja Jai
Singh, this huge complex features a devotion center, a large pond (for holy
dipping), a missionary school, an art gallery, a charitable hospital and a free
kitchen service – called Langar. Listen to the holy hymns recited by the
priests as you visit the community kitchen that serves free meals to all
throughout the day. At Gurudwara Bangla
Sahib you also have an opportunity to visit the community kitchen where you can
learn how to make Chapatis (Indian flatbread).

city also boasts
many monuments that
exemplify the pinnacle
of Mughal architecture.

monument. With its relaxed atmosphere
and its abundance of architecture, handicrafts, and jewelry, Agra is one
of the most remarkable cities on the planet.

which is an
outstanding example of
Mughal architecture and

India. It was
constructed by Emperor
Shah Jahan in memory of his second wife, Mumtaz
Mahal.

which is approximately 240 kilometres away and will take around 5 and a half

Akbar as his capital, was a veritable fairytale. Its ruins remain in remarkable
condition, allowing us to envision the grandeur of court life during its
heyday. On your arrival in Jaipur, check-in at the hotel.
