Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro (River of January) is the second largest city in Brazil with a population of 6.3 million. Rio is the most visited city in the southern hemisphere and is known for its natural settings, carnival celebrations, samba and beaches such as Copacabana and Ipanema. Some of the most famous landmarks include the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer (one of the modern Seven Wonders of the World) at 130 feet tall and built between 1922 to 1931 atop Corcovado mountain, rising 700 metres above sea level. Also Sugarloaf Mountain, which is 396 meters high, above the harbour with its cable car famously featured in the James Bond Movie “Moonraker”.

Iguassu Falls

A further overnight hotel stay. After breakfast in your hotel, our guide will pick you up for a full day adventure to the Argentinian Side of the Iguazu Nationalpark. The Argentinean side is very different from the Brazilian one; there are the three trails leading you through the jungle to the falls including The Devil's Throat: Accessed through the Rainforest with the Ecological Train arriving at the Devil's Throat Station.

In the morning, at 07:00, you will depart for Barreirinhas (4 hours drive) along a good road. Along the way, we see local plantations. Barreirinhas is a very peaceful and charming town, situated on the banks of the Pregisas River. Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, located close to the city, is a wonder of nature, with unbelievable sand dunes. From March to September, nature forms blue lakes between the dunes. At 2:00 pm you will depart in a 4x4 vehicle to the heart of Lençóis, where we will take a tour of Lago Azul and swim in the lakes. We will stay there until late afternoon to enjoy the beautiful sunset on the dunes. In the evening, we return to Barreirinhas, where we can swim in the hotel's pool, stroll through the city's quiet night streets or enjoy the river at a local restaurant. Overnight hotel stay.

Porto Preguicas Resort

After breakfast at the hotel at 8:30 am, we go by motor boat on the Preguica River. We will make a stop in Vassouras, also called small Lençóis, where you can have a refreshing coconut water, take pictures of the monkeys that live there, visit a small fishing village and climb the 160 steps to the Pérgula lighthouse, offering beautiful views. Of region. the dunes, the river and its sources, the ocean and the local vegetation. Then we continue our way to the village of Atins. The rest of the day is free for your leisure time. 

Barreirinhas

Barreirinhas is a charming town in Maranhão, Brazil, best known as the main gateway to the stunning Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. This picturesque destination offers easy access to endless white sand dunes and crystal-clear lagoons, creating one of Brazil’s most unique landscapes. Visitors can enjoy Jeep safaris, boat trips along the Preguiça River, and excursions to nearby villages like Atins and Canto do Atins. With its cozy pousadas, local cuisine, and proximity to natural wonders, Barreirinhas is the perfect base for exploring Brazil’s breathtaking dunes and lagoons.

After breakfast at the hotel we will take a 1h30minute drive to Atins Lagoon in a 4X4 bib type vehicle, to cross the Preguiças River and continue on sand trails, lakes and dunes to Atins. Upon arrival at the village we will stop at Atins beach, where we can take a shower and enjoy snacks in rustic bars by the sea. Then we will head towards Canto do Atins where we will stop for lunch at the “Dona Luzia” or “Seu” Antônio restaurant, famous for grilled shrimp with secret seasoning. After lunch, we will head to the deserted beach of Canto do Atins to swim in its warm, clear waters. We will then head into the Park's dunes towards the best lagoon to visit during the period, stopping for a swim and beautiful photos of this paradisiacal landscape. After the tour you will be transferred to Sao Luis.

Atins

Atins is a remote and picturesque village located at the edge of Lençóis Maranhenses National Park in Maranhão, Brazil. Known for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear lagoons, and endless sand dunes, Atins is a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Then we will head to the city's "Cultural Corridor", which includes the Cathedral and other attractions. Next stop - the tourist centre. Here you can enjoy typical life in a market with local food and drinks that you definitely shouldn't miss! Then we will return to Ponta Negra. Visiting the symbol of the region - Morro Careca Dunes. We will end the tour with a pleasant and relaxing boat ride.
